From: Deb E [debe@usaor.net] Sent: Monday, February 22, 1999 12:24 PM To: Charles Hymes Subject: Here is another hoax for your list I just received this one. I just called Darren Bucklew's mom (since I live in Pgh, its not a toll call). Some nefarious character saw some detailed info about Darren on the web and came up with this hoax. Darren is very healthy. There is no such disease as "ostriopliosis of the liver." There is no such place as Valley Children's Hospital. The family is distraught about all of this. It's been going on for over a year, now, and in several different forms. Mrs. Bucklew told me that she gets calls like mine every day, from all over the world, questioning the validity of story. They also receive hate mail, accusing Darren of starting the hoax. I told Darren's mom that I would help stop this any way I could.
