This is the hoax that started this site. I believed it when I first saw it in the '80's, but the stories repeated reappearance with different vendors and with completely different recipes (cake, fried chicken & homebrew beer) clued me in.
The Cookie Story is very old. I have reason to believe that it dates back to the 1940's, where it was passed about on postcards.
