Subject: Here is a recent hoax that is going around. I got this in our
corporate mail

I received a mail inside our company. I am always getting warnings but
this one was very different. It was actually asking me to boycott a
particular brand--a brand I never heard of.  Anyway, a little effort
reveals it was a hoax.  Here is the e-mail:


I'M SURE MANY OF YOU WATCHED THE RECENT TAPING OF THE 
OPRAH WINFREY SHOW WHERE HER GUEST WAS TOMMY HILFIGER. 
ON THE SHOW SHE ASKED HIM IF THE STATEMENTS ABOUT RACE HE 
WAS ACCUSED OF SAYING WERE TRUE. 

STATEMENTS LIKE "IF HE'D KNOWN AFRICAN-AMERICANS, HISPANICS 
AND ASIANS WOULD BUY HIS CLOTHES HE WOULD NOT HAVE MADE 
THEM SO NICE. HE WISHED THAT THESE PEOPLE WOULD *NOT* BUY 
HIS CLOTHES, AS THEY ARE MADE FOR UPPER CLASS WHITE PEOPLE." 
HIS ANSWER TO OPRAH WAS A SIMPLE YES. WHERE AFTER SHE 
IMMEDIATELY ASKED HIM TO LEAVE HER SHOW. MY SUGGESTION 
LETS GIVE HIM WHAT HE ASKED FOR. LETS NOT BUY HIS CLOTHES 
LETS PUT HIM IN A FINANCIAL STATE WHERE HE HIMSELF WILL NOT BE ABLE TO 
AFFORD THE
RIDICULOUS PRICES HE PUTS ON HIS CLOTHES.

BOYCOTT 

PLEASE SEND THIS MESSAGE TO ANYONE YOU KNOW WHO SPENDS 
THEIR HARD EARNED MONEY ON CLOTHES MADE BY SOMEONE WHO 
DOES NOT RESPECT THEM AS A PERSON OR A PEOPLE  DO NOT BUY 
TOMMY Stuff and other ACCESORIES! We do not want RACISTS 
to sell  Clothes to us .... His BRAND wouldn't make a much of a 
difference for us.  There are many other Designers from whom we can 
buy are Clothes! 

BOYCOTT!    BOYCOTT!    BOTCOTT!    BOYCOTT!    BOYCOTT!
