History of the Internet

        In 1956 in response to the U.S.S.R. launching the first artificial
satellite, called "Sputnik," the U.S. formed the Advanced Research
Projects Agency (ARPA). This agency was within the Department of Defense
via the Pentagon. ARPA was established to help lead the U.S. in fields
of science and technology, applicable to the military. 

        In 1969 ARPA  contacted some computer scholars ( e.g. Vinton Cerf )  at
the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA).  Through the
research of these computer scholars they wanted to establish a military
communications system on  computer networks. In 1982 Internet protocol
had been established and the first definition of the Internet ( " a
connected set of computer networks ") was produced.

        By the mid 1980's there was a significant market for Internet-based
products. It now allows individuals  to link with corporations,
educational institutions, groups, and each other. The question we as
individuals  must ask ourselves is how far will we allow it to go in our
lives.  As a christian, I am aware of a prophecy that tells of an
Antichrist  (Daniel 8, 11 / Revelations 11 & 13) that will deceive the
entire non-christian world. 

        This prohecy also speaks about the Antichrist 's (aka the Beast) name
being the name of a man with a number. As Internet users, maybe you know
that whenever we use the computer, every operation is controlled by
numbers. So what ? So even when you write your name, it's not stored as
letters, but numbers. On the computer we are not individuals, but
numbers with no life of our own. I feel in my soul that even God's
chosen few (christians) will not understand the full significance as to
who the Antichrist/Beast is until the time is right.

        So let me move on to some pertinent facts that we as conscientious
individuals should consider: 
        1. The Internet has always been controlled by the Pentagon
This is an extremely secretive branch of our government. And with their
track record of abusing their powers, there is really no telling what
their motives are as to why they're allowing the public access to the
Internet. Just suppose that every transmission on the Internet is being
secretly monitored by our Government ? 

        2. Are you familiar with Virtual Reality ? It allows the user to
experience adventures of their own choosing by just putting on some kind
of apparatus that taps into their brain and visual center. So even
though we don't really experience this , we believe sub-consciously that
we are . This Virtual Reality is a precursor to the coming of the
Antichrist's real deception of the world. In Revelations chapter 13 the
entire world will have to receive his (the Antichrist/Beast) mark in one
or the other place on their body, namely their forehead or their right
hand.  
        
        a. Some think that  this mark will simply be like the UPC code that is
used by cashiers et al  to scan the price of products that we buy . I
believe that it may be like this, and more. Here's my hypothesis as to
what I think it may also be. First I'd like to refresh your memory or
enlighten you as to the existence of some Supercomputers that are
located, being located, and being modified in key locations all over the
world. Right now we can link with them probably by some satellites
strategicly-located. In essence we can contact just about anyone in the
world with access to a computer.

        b. Now let's go back to Virtual Reality. Just suppose that some kind of
computer  chip can be placed in our body that does two things : a) links
with our brain b) is encoded to be linked with any of the Super
computers that are  in world-wide locations ?  What good would it do if
we don't allow it to be put in us ? Revelation 13 says that if we don't
receive the mark of the Beast/Antichrist then we'll be beheaded.  

        My hypothesis may not be correct, but I know that computer whiz kids
are finding out how to do some amazing things via the computer. Just the
other day I saw a news story showing an experiment where they were
trying to train cockroaches to explore. The only way one can train any
wild creature is by tapping into their intelligence and/or nerve centers
(for optimum control). And that is what I am proposing that can be done
to us by this Antichrist/Beast charater. 

        So what can we do ? Can you stop another from doing wrong ? No ! Of
course not. Just as people who choose to have abortions have a choice,
so do all the rest of us. Ultimately there are two futures that we can
plan for : a) Our temporal future on Earth b) Our eternal future which
will be in Paradise or in Pain. And it goes back to the same old story
(Acts 2:38 - Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and you
shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost).

        If you repent and hold on to your faith in God (we can be deceived into
believing a lie), you will be in Paradise. Once we believe in God, all
he wants us to do after he gives us his Holy Ghost (Spirit) is to LOVE.
Love our neighbor as we love ourselves.
